Britain & the Jews

with Melanie Phillips

Melanie Phillips

Britain’s Jewish community finds itself more beleaguered than at any time in living memory. At the same time, a significant number of British Jews deny that there is a significant problem and say such concerns are exaggerated. How are these tensions and disagreements to be explained? Who is right?

And how has it happened that a country which so many of its Jews had assumed provided the most benign environment in the world appears to have turned against them? Is it all about Israel – or are other factors to blame? And where does all this leave the Jews of Britain?
